It’s really sad to see people so boastful and proud of their good works but it’s more disappointing to see people proud and boastful in the Kingdom of God. Some are immensely talented to lead the praise and worship while some to preach whereas some to volunteer and serve God in various other forms but sometimes it is hard to understand whether people serve God or make others serve them in the Name of God. Amidst their service there is a major hindrance that obstructs the connectivity between God and man and that’s this term-‘So close but yet so far.’

At God’s sanctuary there could be best praise and worship but if it is to impress the people rather than God then this results into a performance. The Word of God says in John 4:24-‘God is Spirit and His worshippers must worship in spirit and truth.’ Let not music or singing become a performance which only takes the form of an entertainment in order to impress the people resulting in an applause that determines the success and approval of the worship where one may be so close to the presence of God but because of being distracted and not Christ centered could yet be so far from the presence of the God.

The same goes with the preaching and teaching of the Word of God which needs to be so pure, holy, undiluted and non manipulated that no one who is so close to their breakthrough, anointing or healing should return empty just because their minds and hearts were far away from the Almighty. We are accountable to God as an individual and we will be judged individually for every thoughts, words and deeds of ours. God’s Word says in Psalm 14:2-‘The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.’ Thus, let our hearts and minds be fully committed to the Almighty.

Keeping Christ the King as the center and focus of our lives and not being distracted by anything or anyone let’s be prepared like the five wise virgins who had their focus and attention only on the bridegroom unlike the five foolish virgins who took their time for granted resulting in them being so close to that big moment of their life but yet so far. The return of Christ the King is near rather than taking our time, anointing, talents and blessings for granted, let’s be Christ centered and Christ focused so that like the foolish virgins we too don’t end up being so close but yet too far from that great day which every child of God is waiting of.
